Connor Kelly, 21, of Webster, died on May 30 while driving home from taking his fiancee to a dentist's appointment, his family said. The Worcester native would have turned 22 years old on July 1.
His family will hold calling hours on Saturday, June 15, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home at 357 Main St. in Oxford. A funeral service will follow with family and friends sharing stories of the young man.
Connor was living in Laguna Niguel, about an hour north of Los Angeles, but had plans to move home to Webster after his wedding to fiancee Allison Reyes.
Connor's family wrote in his obituary that he loved anything with an engine and planned to work in the field after moving back to Massachusetts. Connor joined the Marines after graduating from Douglas High School in 2020
Connor was born in Worcester and lived most of his life in Webster leaving for bootcamp and then being stationed at Camp Pendelton, California. ... Connor was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, where he served as a diesel mechanic. He loved the atmosphere and thrill of serving with the Marines. The Marine Corps offered him the opportunity to work with engines and firearms, both which he loved. He was stationed at Camp Pendleton for three years, and had a great comradery with his brothers and sisters he served with.
His sister, Danielle Beauregard, joked that her brother was "a boy through and through." He loved working on anything with two or four wheels and an engine. Connor even enjoyed riding a unicycle when not on his motorcycle, his family said.
He also had a playful and mischievous streak. He loved teasing his mother, family, and friends — sometimes at their expense but always in good fun.
A testament to Connor's character can be seen in the outpouring of support his family has received since his death. A GoFundMe to help pay for Connor's funeral has raised more than $16,000 as of Monday, with donations continuing to be made.
